ABOUT THE POSITION The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for the maintenance of all HVAC Equipment to ensure proper function and operations in all designated properties, including, but not limited to: the repair and replacement of defective equipment, components and wiring. Run intermediate to advanced independent diagnostics, troubleshooting, pipefitting and brazing of equipment when required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Diagnose causes of equipment breakdowns Test parts with appropriate instruments Disassemble and assemble parts and make necessary repairs Ability to disassemble and rebuild split casing water pumps Ability to braze and solder piping Operation and basic knowledge of DDC control systems Ensure the standards, policies, procedures and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheld Responsible for end-to-end testing, downloading programming, starting up, commissioning and servicing on assigned projects Provide excellent customer service Manage multiple priorities at once Keep open communication Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a Technical / Trade School with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning and five (5) years related experience with increasing responsibility; or seven (7) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze and interpret construction drawings, equipment submittals, electrical line drawings, parts catalogs, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to solve problems, practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram and schedule form. Strong organizational and communication skills. The ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as square footage, building loads conversions proportions and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Proficient in Microsoft Office and DDC Control Systems EPA approved Universal Technician Certification a-plus Valid Driver’s License
GENERAL INFORMATION This is a full-time, on-site position (7am to 3:30pm) On-Call and overtime as required
